Installing/Logging into MobileLink
If you've not already done so, download the Broadsoft MobileLink app from Google Play.
The app icon looks like .
Once installed, proceed to the following steps:
- Login using your LunaVoice credentials (i.e. a username and password that LunaTech provides to you). You generally only need to do this once unless you inadvertently log out of the app. (If you don't have your login credentials, please contact LunaTech support at 818-287-6521, option 1 for assistance.
- User Name. This is the same as your LunaVoice user profile. If you have a DID, it would be something like: 3105551212@yourdomain.com.
- Password. This is the your web login password to your LunaVoice service.
- Telephone. Enter the mobile number of your smartphone, including the area code (no country code or dashes, i.e. 3101231234).
- Host Name (or URL). Enter http://masteraccess.com.
- Click Login.
Choose Your Settings
1. Upon login, you're taken to the Dial Pad and above the Dial Pad, you will see Call, History, Directory, and Settings. Scroll over to Settings and select it.
2. Once selected, you will want to open up the tab for CALL CONTROL and make sure BroadWorks Anywhere is turned ON, which is should be by default. If not, click into Broadworks Anywhere, click your mobile number, turn OFF to ON, and then scroll back to the previous screen to Save that setting. (Note: If you were previously asked to turn on Mobility instead of Anywhere, you can keep this setting enabled unless otherwise instructed by Support.)
- On this page, you will also see the following options on the bottom of the screen, under Advanced Options: Call control, Diversion inhibitor, and Answer confirmation. These should all be checked off (and usually are by default).
3. With the above complete and once you are back on the main Settings screen, open up the tab for OUTGOING CALLS.
4. Click on Outgoing call options and select Use Call Through Service. Use Call Through Service will always put your call through to your company's PBX (phone system). It first dials into the phone system to get dial tone (you might see a 712 number come up on your screen) and then it connects you with the call you are placing.
- Note: You will see multiple choices under the Outgoing call options. Even though, you will want to choose Use Call Through Service, the definitions for the other choices are described below:
- Use System Default Dialer will always dial the call via your Android (using your Android's caller ID) and never through your company PBX. You DO NOT want to do this as it defeats the point of using the app.
- Use Call Back Service is helpful if you're overseas and roaming and better off receiving a call -- not making one, which can be expensive. MobileLink will call your company PBX briefly to arrange the call and then hang-up. It will then call you back, patching the person you are trying to call to you, hence you're receiving the call, not making it.
- Use System Default Dialer will always dial the call via your Android (using your Android's caller ID) and never through your company PBX. You DO NOT want to do this as it defeats the point of using the app.
Using the Directory
Your MobileLink Directory looks the like one below.
Unlike your Android, this screen starts-off empty until you search for someone. Type in a contact name, hit the magnifying glass icon, and the directory will start to populate. Once you find the contact you are looking for, click on their name and another menu will come up that will allow you to call the contact.
Under the initial Directory Search field, you will also see something that says "Display." If you click on that, a menu of options appears.
- All will search your directory of company users stored on the PBX as well as all the contacts stored on your smartphone. This is the most popular choice.
- Enterprise directory will search only the company directory of users in your organization. Depending on how much user information is populated on the PBX, you can see a user's name, title, email, work and mobile phone, address, location, etc.
- Local contact searches whatever users are stored specifically on your smartphone's address book or contacts.
- Outlook contacts searches any contacts you have in the Outlook app on your smartphone. If you do not have Outlook installed on your smartphone, then no contacts will appear under this option.
History
The History tab will show you your call history in chronological order. You will notice icons next to each telephone number in your history. These icons illustrate whether a call was placed by you, received by you, or missed. Click on any number to be able to dial that number back.
The Dial Pad
On the dial pad, you can dial external numbers as well as dial members of your company by extension.
Holding down the icon near the * button on the dial pad, will give you the option to "pull" a live call from your desk phone to your MobileLink app. This is useful if you're on an active call at your desk and need to leave but don't want to lose the call. Clicking on that icon will literally and transparently move your active call from your desk phone to your mobile.
Turning your MobileLink App "off"
If you wish to not receive work calls on your cell for a certain period of time, it is best to do the following rather than logging out:
- Go to Settings
- Call Control
- BroadWorks Anywhere
- Click on your mobile number
- Turn ON to OFF
- Scroll back to the previous screen to Save that setting
