For Polycom users that have been upgraded to version 5.4.0 or higher on their phone, there are new policies for transferring calls:
You now have a default method of transferring. To check or change your default transfer method, go to Home button > Settings > Basic > Preferences > Default Transfer Type
- Here either Consultative or Blind will be checked. You can change it to whichever you want
A. To transfer calls, (in this example, Consultative is the default transfer method):
To Make a Consultative transfer (also know as an Assisted transfer. This type of transfer is when you are going to announce the transfer to the caller)
- When a call is Active
- Hit Transfer
- Dial the extension or 1 + the 10 digit number you want to transfer TO
- Wait for the person to pick up
- Announce the call
- Hit Transfer again
To Make a Blind transfer (This type of transfer is when you do not need to announce the transfer to the caller)
- When a call is Active
- Hold down the Transfer button
- Choose Blind by hitting the down arrow on your wheel or hitting number 2
- Hit the Select key
- Dial the extension or 1 + the 10 digit number you want to transfer TO
- Hit Transfer again
B. To transfer calls, (in this example, Blind is the default transfer method):
To Make a Consultative transfer (also know as an Assisted transfer. This type of transfer is when you are going to announce the transfer to the caller)
- When a call is Active
- Hold down the Transfer button
- Choose Consultative by hitting the up arrow on your wheel or hitting number 1
- Hit the Select key
- Dial the extension or 1 + the 10 digit number you want to transfer TO
- Wait for the person to pick up
- Announce the call
- Hit Transfer again
To Make a Blind transfer (This type of transfer is when you do not need to announce the transfer to the caller)
- When a call is Active
- Hit the Transfer button
- Dial the extension or 1 + the 10 digit number you want to transfer TO (the call automatically transfers)
